La Vaquereada is a community collaboration and celebration of the Vaquero style folk dance and life that began in Mexico. Folklorico groups and community members gather to dance the norteño rhythms. This type of cowboy activity was popular among Californians in the past and still continues to develop and thrive in the ranches of Baja California today.

It is a festival where families from different ranches can meet and live together in harmony. During the Vaquereada Festival, we have community artisan vendors, traditional folk dance workshops, community performances, arts & crafts booths, food, and live music.

Dance Folklorico Workshops are taught by prestige instructors and professors from Universities in Latino America to our community members so they may learn the history and stories expressed through dance. Through art we can express our new awareness and creativity to help us remember our new form of exploration and understanding of the world while developing new skills, creating social connections, and embracing our identity.
